Frequently Asked Questions
Is the J Association different from the Letterman's Association?
Yes. The former Letterman's Association has been transformed into the J Association. Operating under the Purple Lights Fund, the J Association will have the opportunity to build upon the work of the Letterman's Association while expanding its outreach and benefit offerings within the athletics department. Former members of the Letterman's Association are encouraged to join the J Association!
I was a Lifetime Member of the Letterman's Association, do I need to make another lifetime donation?
No. All Lifetime Members of the former Letterman's Association are grandfathered in as Lifetime Members of the J Association.
I received a "T-Card" in the past, can I still use it to get benefits?
No. You must be a J Association member with an ID card to receive any of the benefit offerings. The former T-Card will no longer be accepted as a form of payment for tickets or any other tangible benefits provided by the J Association.
Do you have to be a member of the J Association to receive benefits?
Yes. In order to receive J Association benefits, you must be a qualified member of the J Association.
Does my membership donation count towards my general PLF giving total?
No. Although the J Association operates under the Purple Lights Fund, it is an exclusive community of members that receive a separate set of membership benefits. To receive both unrestricted PLF benefits and J Association benefits, you must give an unrestricted gift to the PLF and join the J Association at the appropriate level.
I've joined the J Association, now what?
